Urban food systems depend on long supply chains that break under stress. Verdant Micro-Systems focuses on small, closed-loop growing systems that recycle their own water and nutrients and can be run close to the people who eat the food.
Permaculture gives us principles worth keeping, but good intentions do not regulate a greenhouse at night. We test ideas against physics and biology: heat capacity, nitrogen cycling, and the vapour pressure that drives plant water use. Where the evidence is thin, we say so.
Our aim is to give growers, agritech engineers, and homesteaders technical explanations clear enough to build from, with figures that are labelled honestly and sources that can be checked.
